Hubert supplies a complete range of gravity thickener machinery for (gravity) thickening and removal of primary, secondary and stabilised sludge.
Thickening is usually the first step in a water (sludge) treatment plant because it is impractical to handle thin sludge, a slurry of solids suspended in water. A thickener can reduce the total volume of sludge to less than half the original volume.
Hubert thickeners are suitable for a circulair tanks and are fitted with a rotating thickening and removal system. General information about waste water treatment can be found on Wikipedia.

The system can be supplied with either a peripheral drive system or a central drive unit. Our thickeners are adapted to your project specification, based on standard Hubert components.

Peripheral Drive Thickener
Our peripheral drive thickener can be configurated as follows:
- Half bridge: the peripheral side of the bridge is fitted with a 2-wheeled carrier
- Full bridge: the bridge is fitted with a two wheeled carrier at either end
Central Drive Thickener
This thickener features a special drive unit fitted to the shaft or cage which can be equipped with an overload sensor. The scraper arms, which are fitted with rake blades, are connected to the drive unit by means of a shaft or cage.

Scum Removal
Optionally Hubert thickeners can be fitted with a scum removal device. This device consists of the following parts:
- Fixed and a movable scum skimmer, mounted on the rake (central drive) or the bridge
- Scum box
- Scum plate
