Surface Aerator
A Hubair™ surface aerator is designed for continuous operation
An (axial flow) surface aerator pushes water from under the water’s surface up into the air, then the droplets fall back into the water, mixing in oxygen. It is used to treat waste water – it is effective in introducing oxygen to the top foot of a water volume. Surface aerators can also be used to keep still waters volumes circulating, healthy, and odor-free.
Hubert delivers also floating surface aerators. When these have a high pumping rate, they can be very effective in water treatment lagoons, carousels and tanks.
On request Hubert can also supply so-called brush aerators.
General information about waste water treatment can be found on Wikipedia.
Hubert – Waste Water Treatment
Hubert supplies high quality equipment with a very long lifetime
Hubert supplies high quality installations and sub-installations applied in municipal and industrial waste water treatment plants. Our installations are of high quality and offer a long service life. In addition to the surface aerators shown on this page, we also offer also a selection of our coarse screens to the waste water treatment market.
We are active in both new construction (EPC) projects and renovation and optimization of waste water treatment plants.

Design and Construction
Our Hubair™ aerator consists of a flat sawtooth shaped plate fitted with twelve blades. The top of each blade has been reversed and bend oudwards at an upward angle of 350 degrees. This influences the direction of the water ejection.
This design has led to reduced friction losses, which not only means that the efficiency of oxygen input is improved but also that the axial stresses on bearings and gearbox are reduced.
The Hubair™ aerator’s standard version is manufactured from carbon steel finished with an epoxy coating. For aeration in higlhy aggressive environments a stainless steel aerator is available. The areator can be installed fixed (oxidation ditch and tank) or floating (tank or lagoon).
