Hubert travelling band screen
Efficient and robust band filter for large-scale water intake.
The Hubert travelling band screen is the solution for reliable and efficient fine filtration at (sea) water intakes. This vertically arranged band screen is specially designed for applications with large flow rates and limited installation space, such as at power plants, desalination plants and industrial cooling systems.
With a capacity of up to 15,000 m³/hour per screen, this system offers maximum performance with minimal installation area. The system is resistant to abrasive particles and large water level variations. With a lifespan of 30 years or more, this screen is a durable choice.
Features
The Hubert travelling band screen is a vertically placed screen that operates on the conveyor belt principle. Fine-mesh sieve panels - with openings from 2 to 10 mm - are mounted between two robust conveyor chains. As the panels move upwards, the water is effectively screened, leaving solids behind.
The removed debris is automatically cleaned at the top of the system with spray water and discharged via a flushing channel. All functional components, such as the drive unit, cleaning unit and drain, are located above the water surface at deck level and are safely shielded by a metal or composite protective cover. This makes maintenance easy and safe.
Thanks to its vertical design, it is ideally suited to locations with limited space or large water level differences. The screen is resistant to abrasive particles and aggressive (sea) water, and can be made of various high-quality materials - from coated steel to (super)duplex. Typical configurations include a recessed version or placement on a skid.
Hubert travelling band screens are available for different flow patterns and can also be used for large tidal variations. The screens can also be supplied with a fish return system that removes fish gently and effectively.
