Hubert penstocks and stop logs

Tailor-made systems for safely shutting off and draining water intakes.

Our systems provide a reliable and efficient method for draining large intake channels, pump chambers and waterways during inspection, maintenance or refurbishment. Each unit is fully custom-designed according to project specifications and hydraulic requirements.

These closure systems are typically installed at the inlet side of water intake installations, upstream of coarse screens, drum screens or travelling band screens.

By using these partitions, individual sections of the intake channel can be drained, allowing maintenance on pumps or screening equipment to be carried out safely and efficiently.

Features

Our stop logs and penstocks are engineered to withstand the specific hydraulic loads of each installation. For deeper watercourses, the systems are manufactured in two or more sections to ensure structural integrity. Seals are mounted on the flat side ,and together with the guides installed in the concrete channel walls, they ensure an optimal sealing and trouble-free installation.

Optional features include a storage frame and cathodic protection, both of which enhance service life and operational reliability.

Thanks to their robust construction and high-quality materials, these closure systems operate safely, reliably and with low maintenance under all conditions, making them an essential component of any modern water intake installation.
