Reliable intake filtration for large-scale installation

The Réghaïa desalination plant in El Marsa, near Algiers, is one of three desalination plants developed by Cosider Canalisations and the Société Nationale de Génie Civil et Bâtiment (GCB).

The plant was built to alleviate water shortages in the region caused by prolonged drought.

What we delivered

For this project, we supplied two self-supporting travelling band screens, specifically designed for applications in desalination plants. The screens were designed with a dual-flow configuration (from outside to inside) and manufactured from Super Duplex stainless steel (1.4410) for maximum resistance to corrosion by seawater.

The systems were supplied fully pre-assembled, enabling efficient on-site installation. In addition, the screens are fitted with control systems that allow for fully automatic operation, based on both time-based control and level measurement.

The vertical construction gives the screens a compact design, making them suitable for locations with limited space and large water level variations
